Tender description

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a provider(s) to work in partnership to design, furnish, finance and operate a private patient facility(s) on 2 of its 5 main hospital sites; these being the Northern General Hospital and Weston Park Cancer Hospital. Following a recent assessment of the local private healthcare market, the trust wishes to appoint a partner to increase access to private healthcare services for cardiac and cancer patients. The selected provider will be required to demonstrate considerable expertise and experience of operating private patient facilities through effective partnerships with NHS Trusts offering services that support specialist clinics and consulting rooms, diagnostic and therapeutic scanning, specialist theatres and inpatient care. Due to the range of options for the delivery of these services, the trust will look for candidates to bring forward and develop appropriate solutions to meet its needs and requirements for a private patient facility(s) through a competitive process (likely to be a competitive process with negotiation). These options may include the possibility of entering into a corporate joint venture with the trust as well as a contractual approach. The trust would expect to provide a range of clinical support services to the successful provider and these will be verified through the process.
