Tender description

Under the Health and Social Care Act 2012, upper tier and unitary local authorities are imposed to contract with a local healthwatch organisation for the involvement of local people in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of health and social services. These arrangements include reporting arrangements to Healthwatch England (Section 182). Local healthwatch organisations are not themselves statutory bodies (i.e. they are not created by the act) but do have a number of statutory duties to undertake. Local healthwatch also provide or signpost people to advice and information to help them make choices about health and social care services. This VEAT notice is published under the public contract Regulations 2015 (Regulation 99). It relates to the provision of local healthwatch services within the London Borough of Wandsworth.
