EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST - Learning Disability Respite Service in the Crewe Area

Cheshire East Council are seeking expressing of interest from appropriately registered providers to deliver planned and emergency over night support in either community / care home settings to provide respite to adults with a range of learning disabilities within the Crewe / Nantwich area. We envisage approximately 20 – 30 people needing to access the service on a planned, pre-booked basis. The average length of respite stay is 4 nights, but people may need support for anything between 1 day to 2/3 weeks depending on their individual situation. In addition to a pre-bookable service we also require access to an emergency respite service which will need to be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Where applicable, individuals will need to be supported to continue to access the community during their respite stay to attend activities such as day care. Providers will also be required to support individuals to maintain their levels of independence during their stay. The service is required for April 2018 and will be for an initial 6 month period, pending a wider review of respite provision currently being undertaken.
