Architectural Services at Sutton High Street Crossroads Conservation Area PSiCA (2018-2020)

The London Borough of Sutton (the council) is at the forefront of regeneration, with a range of exciting opportunities for positive and sustainable change currently being delivered at Sutton Town Centre. The vision for the regeneration at Sutton Town Centre is underpinned by celebrating its heritage as one of the main priorities. To this end Sutton Town Centre has successfully secured the first Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) status in London and Partnership Scheme in Conservation Area (PSiCA) funding to develop a programme of schemes including shop front and heritage assets improvements within the Conservation Area. In partnership with Historic England, we are seeking to appoint architects for the PSiCA. The Council is seeking bids from suitably qualified and experienced firms or consortia to provide professional services to support the delivery of the PSiCA scheme. Tenderers should have a proven track record in restoring and enhancing listed and other historic buildings, which are in on-going business or residential use. The consultant for this commission must be a conservation-accredited architect AABC (http://www.aabc-register.co.uk/) or a RICS conservation-accredited building surveyor with relevant qualifications and experience. Tenderers will not be considered for this project without positive experience of working on Historic England (or as previously English Heritage) or HLF funded or other similar historic building restoration schemes. Architects may have the in-house experience to provide the budget as well or may team up with a suitable Quantity Surveying Practice.
