Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (The Council) has a small but slowly increasing number of young people placed within independent residential provision, but only around a quarter of these are currently placed within Barnsley. The Council aims to explore a range of options around delivery models to enable a greater level of engagement with both adult and young carers in the Borough and provision of more extensive support services. The Council is looking to engage with potential providers to seek a better understanding of the types of services on offer to inform the services to be commissioned.
