Tender description

Kingston upon Hull City Council (the Authority) invites qualified and interested suppliers to tender for the provision of a contract for Funerals undertaken under the Public Health (Control of Disease) Act 1984 on behalf of Hull City Council. The Authority is conducting the procurement using the open procedure, as required by the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (SI 2015/102) (PCR 2015). Tender documents have been made available in both electronic and paper format. There is no need to access the internet and complete an on-line registration to submit a tender on this occasion. The Authority proposes to enter into a contract for a maximum period of four years with the successful Tenderer (Service Provider), with an option to extend for a period or periods of up to a maximum of 12 months. Such extension will be at the discretion of the Authority and subject to satisfactory performance. The anticipated service commencement date is 1 October 2017. Hull City Council invites bids from organisations that are able to provide appropriate Funeral Director type services to ensure the Authority can carry out its statutory duties under section 46 of the Public Health (control of diseases) Act 1984; this is dealing with Public Health Funerals including transportation and care of the deceased to the standards required by this specification. This contract will be awarded to one supplier. The contracted provider will be required to have suitable premises, transportation equipment, and vehicle provision to carry the deceased and adequate and suitable staff resources to meet the service specification listed in ITT PART 1 Schedule 2. If your organisation is interested in this opportunity and you would like to obtain a copy of the tender documents, please email WFProcurement@hullcc.gov.uk. In the event that you do not have access to an email please ring 01482 616291 or 613291, to request documents. The Authority will then post the tender documents to you directly, alternatively the documents can be sent to you via E-mail. Please stipulate how you would like to receive the tender documentation. Documents will be sent upon request from Monday 24 July 2017. Please be aware that should you request to receive tender documentation via post, this may take a number of days for you to receive them. Tender documents can be requested up to Monday 21 August 2017. If your organisation is interested in this opportunity, the Authority would advise you contact the Authority as soon as possible on the stated email or contact numbers to ensure you have the maximum time possible to complete and return the documents. The anticipated budget available for the duration of this contract is approximately £86,250.00. No guarantee can be provided to the successful tenderer(s) of the amount of business to be placed during the continuance of the contract.
