Tender description

Wealden District Council will be renewing their current landscape and arboricultural services contracts in 2019/20. We shall require the services of a suitably qualified and experienced consultant to: — review the present arrangements and current landholdings and advise the optimum way to renew these contract arrangements, whether in a single or series of contracts, — provide a cohesive ecological and landscape management plan for the portfolio, — prepare appropriate tender documents, schedules, and specifications for the agreed contracts, — manage the tender and appointment process in conjunction with our Procurement Team, — act as Contract Manager for the initial 6 months of any contracts arising from the process and hand over the function to Council staff. At present the Council has a number of contracts in place which end through 2019 and 2020, however in addition over the last 2 years have acquired a pair 70-acre parks in Crowborough and Uckfield, as well as a crematorium in a 30-acre site which substantially changes our requirements. The Council’s other landholdings include: — approx. 3000 council houses and amenity areas, — a mixture of Corporate assets/unadopted areas, — the Cuckoo Trail (13 miles of a redundant railway line), — a registered common, — a semi-ancient woodland. We hope to appoint a consultant in late Spring 2018 with the first of the works tenders being issued January 2019 and contracts commencing April 2019.
