Tender description

High support accommodation for these young people in care aged 16-17 and young adults aged 18-24 who are eligible for adult social care. They have high support needs and present a risk to themselves and/or to others and have to live in self-contained accommodation. They are likely to have a range of needs including 1 or more of the following: Learning difficulty, mental health needs, experience of childhood trauma, substance misuse, sexually harmful behaviour, self-harm, experience of sexual exploitation, domestic violence and anger management problems. The provider will need to secure the accommodation which must be self-contained. The support will be high level initially. It will focus on helping young people to develop the skills they need to live more independently. The level of support will be flexible and should reduce over time as the young person becomes more independent and less reliant on the provider. It is envisage the procurement of this service will be conducted as a specific lot under a dynamic purchasing system (DPS). A DPS will be established (the exact scope of this is still to be agreed) then call-offs for specific services will be conducted from this.
