Tender description

This is an award notice for substance misuse services to respond appropriately to needs,improve outcomes for service users and support recovery. As part of this transformation the local authority was seeking to improve services in line with NICE guidance for medically assisted withdrawal from drug and alcohol dependency. Forming part of the Shropshire treatment system this inpatient service will work closely with the local community service provider to ensure people's needs are met, improve successful completions and support service users to achieve positive outcomes. This is an award notice for substance misuse services. The service will provide inpatient medically assisted withdrawal to those services users who have been assessed as suitable to receive an assisted withdrawal but whose needs cannot be appropriately met within the community. The Local Authority has purchased the following two year block contract with the option to extend one plus one year based on Year 2 projections. Year 1 = 1 095 occupied bed days (OCBDs) in year 1 with the option for the Council at its discretion to purchase up to a further optional 278 OCBDs within the year for the use of the Council. Year 2 = 730 occupied bed days (OCBDs) in year 2 with the option for the Council at its discretion to purchase up to a further optional 274 OCBDs within the year for the use of the Council. In both years a very small number of bed days will be required for stabilisation.
