Preparatory actions for the UK Seas project on Marine protected Area Management

Tender description

This is a partnership project between Natural England and WWF-UK purpose of which is to provide the prepartoary actions for a longer tem project aimed at improving the management of Marine Protected Areas. The Natural England funding contribution is to specifically deliver preparatory and start up actions for the UK SEAS project. This will include the following actions: 1. Establishing pilot MPA management coordination structures -This will involve a review of existing MPA governance, pilot projects that have already been carried out e.g. in Northumberland, and provision of a template and training pack for project officers. . This work will be contracted by WWF-UK with input from Natural England. 2. Marine stakeholder analysis and mapping of drivers in the marine environment - this work will be contracted and delivered by WWF-UK. 3. Project officer time to manage and establish the different project work streams. This will be delivered by WWF-UK project manager and team. Results will be measured in the form of successful start up project meetings and steering group calls and the production of a detailed project work plan for the full UK SEAS project.
