NHSBT will tender for a contract to commence 1.12.2017 for the supply of a system for the pathogen inactivation of plasma. NHSBT will consider any CE marked system. The system will be used to treat plasma imported from countries with a reduced risk of vCJD transmission. Treated plasma will be used in the subsequent manufacture of paediatric and neonatal plasma components, and single and pooled cryoprecipitate. Approximate volume is 24000 plasma units per annum. Prospective suppliers are invited to engage with NHSBT by teleconference on 24.3.2017 in order to explore options. As part of your expressions of interest please confirm your ability to attend the engagement day via email to jess.allen@nhsbt.nhs.uk by no later than 17:00 hrs (GMT) on 7.3.2017. (Note expressions of interest after this date will not be at a disadvantage). Further details shall be released, for consultation purposes only, to those organisations who express an interest.
