Tender description

The Central Lasers Facility (CLF) at the Science and Technology Facilities Council's Rutherford Appleton Laboratory has pioneered the development of optical parametric chirped amplification (OPCPA) for the generation and amplification of laser pulses for ultra-high intensity laser facilities. The CLF now requires a new seed source to enable the development of OPCPA systems to generate pulses of octave-spanning bandwidth and with ultra-high contrast. To achieve this ultra-high contrast requires the amplification process to occur on the femtosecond timescale which requires a high degree of synchronisation between the pump and signal beams. CLF is now looking to purchase a pump laser for this scheme.
