Tender description

Musculoskeletal (MSK) services are provided across Wirral and include elective orthopaedics, orthopaedic outpatients, physiotherapy, podiatry, pain management and rheumatology. Patients are typically referred into these services from general practice; however admissions through the emergency department and minor injury units are also common place. NHS Wirral Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) seeks to implement an Integrated MSK Service under a prime provider contract. The CCG intends to award a contract to a single provider who will either deliver in its entirety or sub-contract up to a maximum of 30 % (by value) of service provision. The Integrated MSK service must be a consultant led service, accessible through a triage service operating in a community based setting and be integrated in to onward secondary care services. This PIN is a call for competition to invite potential providers of integrated musculoskeletal services to express an interest. Services must be delivered in both a community based and secondary care setting within the Wirral peninsula boundary and include; Physiotherapy Consultant Led Triage Service, elective orthopaedics, orthopaedic outpatients, physiotherapy, podiatry, pain management and rheumatology. Bidders are required to comply with and meet requirements set out in the Standard Questionnaire, available at www.nhssourcing.co.uk Minimum financial capacity includes a turnover of at least 1 times the contract value of 125 000 000 GBP and technical capacity of having facilities capable of delivering 1 000 elective orthopaedic joints procedures per annum, be CQC registered and hold an NHS provider licence.
