Tender description

Calshot Beach is protected by a combination of zig-zag and straight timber pile groynes, spaced at <20m intervals set perpendicular to the 900m wooden pile revetment at the back of the beach. Over time the condition of these groynes deteriorates, and maintenance is required to ensure a good overall condition of the groynes. The groynes were inspected for damage/wear in January 2017, and a programme of required maintenance works has been established. Keywords: groyne, timber, construction, coastal
