983/17 The design, development and delivery of development programme for Heads of Schools and Heads of Department for De Montfort University, Leicester

Tender description

This intervention is looking at targeting and accelerating the Heads of School/Department cohort's ability to facilitate the adoption of good practice and the achievement of consistent levels of performance within their academic communities, while being cognisant of other key strategic aims and initiatives, which affect them. The cohort of Heads of School and Departments is made up of 12 -16 individuals. DMU anticipates the programme will: •Explore the Heads of School/Department's leadership and management role in delivering academic excellence •Examine the wider systemic forces and understand those within their control, those leaders and the organisation can influence, and those outside the organisation's and leaders' influence •Develop personal skills and efficacy in managing performance and delivering academic excellence •Explore how to create a culture of ambition for exemplary research and teaching, and delivering academic excellence
