Barnsley Metropolitan Borough Council (BMBC) are seeking to appoint suitably qualified and experienced companies to manage the reprocessing and recycling of paper, card and mixed recyclates. The Authority has a number of bring banks which it is also seeking a collection service for and also runs a commercial recycling collection service for separated paper and cardboard. The Supplier will be responsible for receiving, handling, treatment and the disposal of Recyclable Waste from Authorised Vehicles of the Authority or any agents acting on their behalf; The treatment, processing and where applicable, the bulk collection from the Primary Delivery Point of Recyclable Waste must be carried out to maximise the generation of Recycling and Products and thereby minimise waste disposal via landfill. The Contract is split into 4 LOTs LOT 1 (Paper Only) LOT 2 (Paper/Card) LOT 3 (Card only) LOT 4 - Glass, Cans and Plastic Bottles The Primary Delivery Point shall be determined by the Authority and shall be either; • premises provided by the Supplier or; • premises provided by the Authority (which can be through another provider) and shall be used for the delivery of Recyclable Waste by the Authority's own fleet of refuse and recycling collection vehicles. In all cases the Primary Delivery Point will accept deliveries of Recyclable Waste from all four LOTs and will be located within a 10 mile radius of Barnsley Town Hall (Postcode: S70 2TA).
