PREPARATION OF DESIGN AND BEST PRACTICE GUIDELINES FOR CLUSTER HOUSING IN RURAL VILLAGES

Tender description

The purpose of the guidelines is to provide practical advice to developers, agents and landowners who are involved with the development of housing in or adjacent to our rural settlements. The guidelines shall: 1. Provide a methodology/guidance for reading and interpreting typologies based on historic development, landscape character, urban grain, built and natural landscape. 2. Identify a typology of settlements, taking into consideration the Tipperary County Landscape Character Asessment, size, urban grain, topography and natural and built landscape. 3. Provide best practice design and layout options with a focus on low density housing and serviced sites based on the typology identified, and provide concept-layouts, house type design examples, colour palettes, materials. 4. Provide layout options and best practice solutions, taking account of water and waste water infrastructure (i.e. options for unserviced and serviced villages).
