Description of Item 1 An integrated X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscope (XPS) and Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) system which will be directly connected through an automated sample handler. Description of Item 2 An Atomic Force Microscope (AFM), primarily intended to provide topological, electrical, and mechanical information of a wide range of samples such as metals, polymers, and powders. Description of Item 3 A high specification mass spectrometer for analysis of proteins and peptides in biological samples. The system must be capable of carrying out protein identification, protein/peptide characterisation, protein/peptide quantitation and proteomic applications. Description of Item 4 An advanced signal characterisation facility, including (a) an Electrical Network Analyser, (b) a High Resolution Optical Spectrum Analyser, (c) An Optical Spectrum Analyser and (d) an Electrical Real Time Oscilloscope.
