Provision of Traffic and Bus Surveys

Tender description

The NTA is commissioning the generation of regional transport models which will cover all areas nationally outside of the Greater Dublin Area (GDA). As part of this process traffic data is required to supplement the existing traffic count database. The information generated at the proposed traffic survey locations will be used to support the on-going development of each of the five regional models, namely the Southwest Regional Model, Southeast Regional Model, Midwest Regional Model, West/Northwest Regional Model and East Regional Model. The main city in each of the regional models is Cork, Waterford, Limerick, Galway and Dublin respectively. Data from proposed survey locations will be used to supplement an existing nationwide traffic survey database, which has been streamlined into a standardised format. The services to be provided comprise the undertaking of traffic surveys at specified locations in five different lots, one lot representing each of the aforementioned regional areas. Each lot must be completed in its entirety and each lot includes a combination of survey types. The boundary of the model is based on existing county boundaries and the extent of the regional model is as follows: Lot 1: Southwest Regional Model (Cork): Counties Cork and Kerry. Lot 2: Southeast Regional Model (Waterford): Counties Waterford, Tipperary South, Wexford, Carlow and Kilkenny. Lot 3: Midwest Regional Model (Limerick): Counties Limerick, Tipperary North and Clare. Lot 4: West/Northwest Regional Model (Galway): Counties Galway, Mayo, Roscommon, Leitrim, Sligo and Donegal. Lot 5: East Regional Model (Dublin): Counties Dublin, Meath, Kildare, Wicklow, Louth, Wexford, Carlow, Laois, Offaly, Westmeath, Longford, Cavan, and Monaghan.
