Tender description

The University Course Enquiries Unit (CEU) wants to establish a contract with a suitable service provider for the provision of postal services. The provider must offer a high quality service provision with minimal administrative/sortation operations suitable for a small team, and one that also demonstrates excellent service and value for money over the entire contract period. The contract will not be divided into lots as it would be difficult to manage. The Qualification section will be assessed on a pass/fail basis in accordance with the standard qualification questions implemented by the Crown Commercial Services (CCS)/Cabinet Office. The requirements here include: — The Tenderer must have a Credit Safe score of ≥30. — The successful Contractor must have a minimum of 5 000 000 GBP Employers Indemnity Insurance. — The successful Contractor must have a minimum of 1 000 000 GBP Public / Products Liability Insurance. — The Tenderer must have a minimum annual turnover of 100 000 GBP. The scope of the requirement is for day-to-day postal collections, deliveries and bulk mailing provision for CEU. Most mailings that contain more than a 1 000 postal items are usually considered too large to do in-house at the University. Therefore a similar or alternative service is required for sending out occasional bulk mailings — typically between 4 000-18 000 items per mailing, approx. 5-6 times per year. These mailings are currently conducted on our behalf by local mailing agents.
