Northumbria Healthcare Foundation Trust (NHCT) pharmacy currently has an Automated Storage and Dispensing System (ARX Rowa Speedcase) which was installed 8 years ago. The Trust has identified the need to refresh this system to take advantage of developments in technology to maximise the improvements in productivity, efficiency, patient safety, cost, medicines optimisation, and staff time. It is also necessary that the replacement system has the ability to read 2D barcode matrix using GS1 standards. At present the Trust is assessing the options of capital purchase or leasing the equipment. To aid the Trust a pre-procurement market engagement event has been organised for the 3.3.2017 at the Trust. The purpose of this engagement is to allow interested suppliers to discuss their products, likely costings for capital purchase, leasing, support and maintenance.
