Tender description

The Go Higher West Yorkshire (formerly HEART) National Collaborative Outreach Programme supports access to higher education for all those who are capable of and would benefit from the experience. It comprises 12 Higher Education providers in West Yorkshire: Bradford College, Calderdale College, Kirklees College, Leeds City College, Leeds College of Art, Leeds College of Building, Leeds Beckett University, Leeds Trinity University, University of Bradford, University of Huddersfield, University of Leeds and Wakefield College. The partnership successfully bid for funding under the National Collaborative Outreach Programme (NCOP) for a major project starting in January 2017. The Go Higher West Yorkshire NCOP will work in 27 Target Wards where participation in Higher Education is lower than might be expected when achievement at GCSE is considered. The aim over a period of 4 years is for more pupils to progress to and succeed in Higher Education. The project aims to work with pupils in Years 9 - 13 (up to age 19) from the target ward areas as well as their parents, carers and others who influence student choice. Funding has been confirmed up until December 2018, with the possibility of an extension of funding for a further 2 years. We are looking for external providers to help us to develop an engaging programme of activities to support and encourage more pupils from the target areas into Higher Education and to help us meet the overall targets for the NCOP project which are: — 95 % of project participants moving into KS4 make an informed choice for GCSE options. — 95 % of project participants moving into KS5 make informed post-16 choices. — 95 % of project participants leaving KS5 make informed post-18 choices. — Achieve a 2 % uplift across our partner schools/academies/colleges in numbers who progress to an HE destination. During the lifetime of the project we aim to reach over 10 000 learners.
