Tender description

Low Carbon Off Site manufactured solution — Nottingham City Homes (NCH) will deliver a development of a maximum of 44 properties on part of the 2.4Ha site. These new homes would be built to Passive House standards, to provide highly energy efficient homes delivering low carbon homes in the most disadvantaged communities. In addition to this tenderers will be required to agree to and support NCH in developing in-house manufacturing for offsite construction at the NCH depot and the facility to set up on-site manufacturing for their product to help promote local employment. Training Hub development partnership, off site manufacture and installation of the product for NCH, the successful contractor and potentially the wider industry. The successful tenderer will also be required to fully engage in project research that will be carried out by the University of Nottingham and should make an allowance for that within their submission. Research will cover pre-construction, the construction period itself and post-construction/occupancy disciplines. The remainder of the site will provide a community growing project. To enable people to grow and cook healthy food at low cost, whilst encouraging health eating and lifestyle habits. The site is located in Top Valley in the Bestwood ward. It can be accessed via Whitcombe Gardens, off Bestwood Park Road West. The site was formerly home to the Eastglade Primary and Nursery School, which closed in August 2007 as a result of amalgamation. All of the school buildings have now been demolished and the site is mainly scrub-land with areas of concrete hardstanding.
