Transport for London (TfL) is publishing this Request for Information to obtain information from the provider market regarding Lost Property Services provision. TfL provides an in-house Lost Property Office service, consisting of property processing and customer service functions, handling approx. 300 000 items per annum on behalf of London Buses, London Underground, Emirates Airline, London Overground Black Taxis, River Bus piers and Victoria Coach station. Items are handed in at various stations and depots across the London transport network. The volume of lost property is anticipated to increase in the coming years as the population of London grows and our service expands. We are exploring a range of options that will allow us to meet this increase in demand while maintaining a top quality service for customers that delivers best value for money. To achieve this we are seeking information from the external supplier market to help us determine our future service model. The role of the Lost Property Office (LPO) involves the: — Collection of lost property from train and bus depots; — Sorting and storage of lost property; — Retrieval and restoration of lost property to the owner; and — Unclaimed property disposal.
