Tender description
Warwickshire Police and West Mercia Police are to invite suitable vehicle recovery operators to tender for the provision of Light and Heavy Vehicle recovery services for the alliance. The Contract term will be for a maximum period of 5 years. The contract will be on a 3+1+1 with a rolling extension after 36 months, year 4 and 5 will be appointed on a year by year basis subject to the following: 1) The Service provider/operator maintaining levels of performance which are acceptable to the alliance throughout the preceding contract period. 2) The Service provider offering levels of safety and adhering to requirements of the tender specification and service level agreement. Due to the geographical coverage, the contract will be broken down into the 10 Lots. Bidders are eligible to bid for one or more Lots. Please note operators will not be allowed to choose either light or heavy vehicle recoveries. This contract is and shall cover a combination of the two vehicle categories. Within each lot vehicle recovery operators will be expected to cover and respond to all light vehicle recoveries within a time period of 30mins, and for heavy vehicle recovery up to 45mins (weather and traffic permitting). The contractor is to provide services with regard to the removal, storage and disposal of vehicles and other bulky items of property, and also have the right tools and equipment to meet all industry/road traffic regulation requirements. Within each lot vehicle recovery operators will be expected to cover and respond to all light vehicle recoveries within a time period of 30mins, and for heavy vehicle recovery up to 45mins (weather and traffic permitting).
