Who Speclialist Work With MOD Civil Servants, Military Personnel, Contractors What Specialists Work On Information Application Services (IAS) is a branch of Army Headquarters based in Andover, Hampshire. To achieve its mission, IAS provides IT application development on the Joint Server Farm, and a wider range of applications on a separate Army Hosting Environment. IAS has a portfolio of successful Oracle Apex, PHP, and .NET applications developed in-house that support MoD and Army branches with their business processes. Working in an Agile and DevOp capability to enhance services for Defence. Where the Work Takes Place Army Headquarters, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 8HJ Early Market Engagement N/A Working Arrangements Place of delivery shall be on site at Army Headquarters, Andover. Army Headquarters normal working hours are Monday – Friday 0830 – 1700. Remote working acceptable. On rare occasions the specialist may be required to visit / work from other MOD locations. All specialists must successfully complete the Army HQ Induction Package; this basic package satisfies a range of administrative requirements such as, yet not limited to, health and safety; equality and diversity; and fire awareness. Specialists are to note this is a mandatory requirement. Work Location Army Headquarters, Andover, Hampshire, SP11 8HJ Security Clearance Security Cleared (SC) All specialists should have the necessary security clearance to be able to access MOD premises and information up to SECRET – UK EYES ONLY; this is the DBS NSV SC level of vetting. Incumbents are to follow both the letter and spirit of Army Headquarters security regulations. Experience in building Secure Web Applications including knowledge of how to mitigate common risks listed by OWASP At least 5 + years IS experience of PHP programming and MYSQL databases. Experience of using TFS/VSTS to manage requirements, source code (Git), Continuous Integration and Release Management. Can produce high quality and well structured PHP coding solutions, with minimum security risks. Have extensive knowledge of PHP (v5/v7) with proven experience of integrating PHP with 3rd party software such as forums and email. Integration with web services via such services as SOAP and the integration of PHP with stored procedures of various databases particularly MySQL, Microsoft SQL and Oracle. Have a detailed knowledge of MYSQL (v5) database design, stored procedures and administration. Have a detailed knowledge of Linux Operating system commands, shell scripting and administration. Have a detailed knowledge Apache web server (v2.2) configuration and administration. Have a detailed knowledge Shibboleth (v2.4) configuration, admin and its integration into Apache & PHP software, including 3rd party software. Have a detailed knowledge PHP frameworks and libraries, in particular Zend framework and Smarty templating. Assist in requirement analysis, software design and problem solving. Experience of preparing detailed development estimates; the capacity to work to deadlines, and to inform non-technical management of progress. Nice to Haves Working within a Defence environment, and within the military culture. An understanding of other Internet related technology, including (yet not limited to) CSS, JavaScript, streaming media, IM, SMS and e-mail interfacing. Knowledge, experience and demonstrable ability in Microsoft Azure, including configuring and managing IaaS and PaaS workloads. Experience in deploying , securing and maintaining WordPress Experience in deploying , securing and maintaining LimeSurvey Experience in deploying , securing and maintaining Piwik analytics Experience in deploying , securing and maintaining Kayako Fusion Helpdesk Experience in deploying , securing and maintaining phpBB Forums Experience of PHPMailer, Apache Tika and pChart PHP Libraries. Have a good understanding of AJAX and JavaScript. Have experience of SMS gateway services. Have experience of Content Management Systems.
