Tender description

Sykehusinnkjøp HF, hereafter called the Contracting Authority, intends to procure a CT with accessories for use in planning radiotherapy. The CT shall have a large gantry opening and must have functionality that allows for integration with all of the department´s equipment for radiotherapy. — the department of cancer treatment and medical physics shall procure a new CT that shall be integrated of our existing radiotherapy environment. — the new CT machine shall replace our existing Philips Brilliance Big Bore CT from 2006. However, it will be installed in a separate room so that both machines can run in parallel at first. — the radiotherapy department currently has a modern equipment park with Varian Medical Systems as the main supplier. — we have 6 modern accelerators that can deliver advanced VMAT treatments and take pictures with Cone-beam CT. — patient administration, treatment, verification, dose planning and picture processing are done in Aria/Eclipse version 13.6. — the department of cancer treatment and medical physics treats most forms of cancer in all of the body´s organs. The CT machine must, therefore, be able to generate a picture quality that meets this need. — the patients lie in the same fixation equipment for CT as for treatment, therefore the tabletop must be equivalent to the Varian IGRT top with identical indexing. — the placement of the patient means that the CT gantry opening and reconstruction area ought to be as large as possible. — the pictures from the CT machine shall be sent to Aria and PACS. — the personnel in the radiotherapy department rotate between different modalities, so there will be many users who will operate the CT machine, therefore simple operation and good training are important! — the CT machine is currently used in the period 07:30-15:30 on weekdays. In 2016 approx. 10 patient examinations were carried out each day. — this can form the basis for the service need in the tender.
