Extended Access for Basildon & Brentwood CCG patients: — commission weekday provision of access to pre-bookable and same day appointments to general practice services in evenings (as a minimum between 6:30 pm and 8 pm each weekday), — commission weekend provision of access to pre-bookable and same day appointments on both Saturdays (a minimum of 9 am to 3 pm) and Sundays (a minimum of 10 am to 2 pm) to meet local population needs, — this includes bank holidays, — provide robust evidence, based on utilization rates, for the proposed disposition of services throughout the week, and, — appointments can be provided on a hub basis with practices working at scale. Funding is for 3 years and non-recurring - Value of Contract is £1,109,000.00 in 2018/19; £1,686,000 for 2019/20 and funding for 2020/21 has not announced yet. The CCG is expected to commission Extended Access services that meet the 7 core areas of GPFV access, these 7 core requirements are as follows. — Timings for appointments: — — commission weekday provision of access to pre-bookable and same day appointments to general practice services in evenings (as a minimum between 6:30 pm and 8 pm each weekday), — — commission weekend provision of access to pre-bookable and same day appointments on both Saturdays (a minimum of 9 am to 3 pm) and Sundays (a minimum of 10 am to 2 pm) to meet local population needs, — — this includes bank holidays, — Capacity: — — commission a minimum additional 30 minutes consultation capacity per 1000 population in 2018/19, rising to 45 minutes per 1000 population in 2019/20, — Measurement: — — ensure usage of a nationally commissioned new tool to automatically measure appointment activity by all participating practices, both in-hours and in extended hours, — Advertising and ease of access: — — ensure services are advertised to patients, including notification on practice websites, notices in local urgent care services and publicity that into the community, so that it is clear to patients how they can access these appointments and associated service, — — all practice receptionists able to direct patients to the service and offer appointments to extended hours service on the same basis as appointments to non-extended hours services, — — patients should be offered a choice of evening or weekend appointments on an equal footing to core hours appointments, — Digital: — — use of digital approaches to support new models of care in general practice, — Inequalities: — — issues of inequalities in patients' experience of accessing general practice identified by local evidence and actions to resolve in place, — Leadership & Governance. — — ensure leadership and governance arrangements in place. 1) Signed up Memorandum of Understanding with each practice that from the specific neighborhoods practice Provider will be providing Extended Access for, to access their registered list of patients and ensure continuity of provision between the core and extended periods. 2) There must be 100 % percentage cover from 1st April 2018 for Basildon & Brentwood CCG. 3) The funding is for 3 years only and non-recurring and although indicative per weighted population funds for year 1 and year 2 have been announced the actual amount of money may change. 4) The service must be meet all aspects of the Basildon & Brentwood Extended Access Service Specification and the 7 core requirements 7) Be able to take NHS 111 directly bookable appointments and follow due diligence process and validation of patient experience. 8) The new organization must be able to deliver within the CCG defined locality footprint 9) IT expectation is that it must be interoperable with SystmOne 10) Must have the appropriate CQC registration by 31st March 2018.
