Event Details. Date: Monday 29 January 2018. Time: 10:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. (arrival from 9:30). Venue: Taunton (full venue details will be provided following registration). Please email rbennett@somerset.gov.uk by 12 noon on 15 January 2018 providing details of your company, name(s) of person(s) wishing to attend and contact email address, as well as any specific access requirements. If you are unable to attend the event the presentation(s) and information from the event will be available through the e-tendering system Pro-Contract. Due to the venue size, we ask that no more than 2 representatives attend from each organisation. Organisations that take part will not be advantaged or disadvantaged in any way in any potential future formal procurement. Commercial confidentiality will be respected. This notice does not represent a formal commitment by the Council to undertake a procurement procedure. It is an exciting time for social care and SCC is inviting providers to this event to discuss the future direction for day opportunities for people with dementia and older people with functional mental health needs. Across SCC, there is an ambition that people in Somerset have good quality lives, living as independently as possible, within their local communities. Momentum is building across adult social care to change the approach to care and support, with a re-focus on enablement, choice and control and community connections. For people with dementia and older people with functional mental health needs, particularly those with more complex needs, SCC is now commencing work to look at developing creative and flexible day opportunities that are responsive to people’s personal circumstances, deliver positive outcomes and are connected to local communities.
