Tender description
NHS England South (South West) (the Commissioner) seeks to commission school-aged immunisation services to the South West. This procurement is being carried out by NHS South, Central & West Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of the Commissioners. The procurement has been split into lots. The aim of the school-aged Immunisation Service is to prevent the eligible population, which is defined as any eligible child attending a school, or not attending a school but registered with a GP and/or resident within the defined geographic boundaries, from developing vaccine-preventable childhood diseases that are associated with significant mortality and morbidity. The 5 lots are: Lot 1: Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (Primary); Lot 2: Somerset (Primary); Lot 3: Devon (Primary); Lot 4: Somerset (Secondary); Lot 5: Devon(Secondary). Bidders may bid for one, multiple or all lots. There are no limitations to the number of lots which can be awarded to any one tenderer. NHS England South (South West) will be the Contracting and Commissioning Authority for the school-aged immunisation service. The aim of the school-aged Immunisation service is to prevent school-aged children from developing vaccine-preventable childhood diseases that are associated with significant mortality and morbidity. Commissioners are looking for providers to deliver a high-quality service within Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (Primary). The provider will be commissioned to deliver childhood influenza for primary aged children aged 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 (school years reception, 1, 2, 3 and 4) of sufficient quantity and quality to prevent the infections and outbreaks caused by these organisms. This means achieving high levels of coverage across England as well as within upper tier local government areas and within the context of populations with protected characteristics as defined by the Equality Act 2010. The service provider(s) will need to be adaptable to any new or changes to national programmes. The contract duration will be for 5 years. The expected service commencement date is the 1.6.2018, with a contract expiry on 31.5.2023.
