CMAL0182 Proposed Infrastructure Works at UIG, Lochmaddy and Tarbert. This notice is being issued in collaboration between Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (CnES), The Highland Council (THC) and Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL). Construction works are proposed at 3 harbours on the “Skye Triangle” to accommodate a new dual fuel vehicle ferry which is currently being built on behalf of CMAL. The three harbours are Uig, Isle of Skye (owned by THC), Lochmaddy, North Uist (owned by CnES) and Tarbert, Harris (owned by CMAL). The proposed works, likely to total in the region of 50 million UK pounds Sterling (subject to approval of funding), It is an expectation of this contract that the successful bidder will engage fully with local supply chain.. CMAL0182 Prior Information Notice (PIN) for proposed Infrastructure Works at UIG, Lochmaddy and Tarbert. This notice is being issued in collaboration between Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (CnES), The Highland Council (THC) and Caledonian Maritime Assets Limited (CMAL). Construction works are proposed at 3 harbours on the “Skye Triangle” to accommodate a new dual fuel vehicle ferry which is currently being built on behalf of CMAL. The 3 harbours are UIG, Isle of Skye (owned by THC), Lochmaddy, North Uist (owned by CnES) and Tarbert, Harris (owned by CMAL). The proposed works, likely to total in the region of GBP 50 000 000 (subject to approval of funding), will include the following elements: — Capital Dredging, — Land reclamation, — Construction of Vehicle marshalling areas, roads, footpaths and parking, — Pier strengthening, extension and widening, — Pier demolition and reconstruction, — Fender installation, — Linkspan replacement, — Building demolition, — Building construction, — Services upgrades, — Construction of LNG (Liquified Natural Gas) fuelling area. It is anticipated that construction procurement will commence in the first half of 2018. The procurement may be carried out individually by each authority or may be progressed collaboratively, the extent of collaboration to be agreed between the authorities. A supplier information event is planned on 24.1.2018 at Hampden Park, Glasgow. Further information on the timetable and format of the event will be provided directly to those suppliers registering interest through PCS and those registering through Chris Kane.
