Tender description

The aim of this project is to enable batch scale production of electrochemical devices, such as batteries and supercapacitors. These devices are to be produced in a manner which closely reflects industrial standards, this will minimise the effort required when transitioning to a larger pilot scale production line. Cell containment will be achieved using aluminium laminate foil to form what is known as pouch cells. The batch scale production line should be automated where readily applicable and appropriate. Batch production has been defined as either 4 devices per day or 20 devices per week. Note: Electrode fabrication and pouch cell fabrication may occur independently of one another (i.e. electrodes can be made in advance of pouch cell fabrication). Both aqueous and organic electrolytes may be used. The intended facility will have 120 m2 of general laboratory space and 40 m2 of dry room space. Please refer to procurement documents.
