Tender description

Competition for collaborations to receive the right to call themselves Institutes of Technology. This notice is published under Regulation 51(4) of the Public Contracts Regulations (the Regulations) (article 51(6) of Directive 2014/24 on public procurement (the Directive)). The Department for Education considers that the arrangements between it and Institutes of Technologies (IoTs) falls outside the scope of the Regulations and the Directive. However, it publishes this notice to provide the maximum opportunity to participate for those wishing to become IoTs. A brief description of the main features of the award procedure to be applied: the Guidance Notes for Applicants details the award procedure. In summary: there are 2 stages in the competition. Stage One will check bids for eligibility and readiness. It will then apply a quality evaluation leading to a ranking in order. A threshold will be set, above which bids will be invited to Stage 2. Stage 2 will apply a further quality evaluation leading to a ranking in order. A threshold will be set, above which bids will be successful.
