Tender description

Framework agreement for the provision of taxi transport services for children, young people and vulnerable adults with special educational needs and/or disability (SEND). The Contracting Authority invites expressions of interest from suitably qualified providers for inclusion in the Contracting Authority's framework agreement for the provision of SEND taxi services. The SEND taxi service provides the council with vehicles, drivers and passenger assistances to accompany children and young people to their place of education and may also be utilised for vulnerable adults on their journeys where required. The SEND taxi service is mainly used by the Contracting Authority to support delivery of its statutory transport duties to support children and young people with SEND to travel to/from school/college, and to support vulnerable adults assessed as eligible to receive travel support. There are currently 74 taxi rounds transporting children and young people on these journeys to and from school/college, both within and outside of Southwark, as well as occasional ad-hoc journeys as part of family support packages.
