Strategy Report for Non-licensable activity impacts on Marine Protected Areas

Tender description

The aim of the project is to develop a sufficiently robust evidence base on the full range and types of marine non-licensable activities, their current and potential intensity, and risk of impact on marine protected areas (MPAs). The project objectives are: 1. Provide a list of non-recreational non-licensable activities which can cause impacts on MPAs. The MMO will then narrow down this list to the top 5 most important activities to include in this project along with the recreational activities. Provide robust data on the spatial distribution of currently occurring non-licensable activities in marine protected areas in English waters, this includes the intensity of each activity and allows a comparison between sites. Not in the scope is anchoring and mooring activities and recreational sea angling. 3. Undertake stakeholder engagement to validate the findings on distribution of non-licensable activities.
