Provision of Cereal, Crop and Agricultural Inputs Data

Tender description

The Authority is the UK Government Department responsible for the environment, food and farming and rural affairs. The Authority’s priorities are to secure a healthy natural environment; a sustainable, low-carbon economy; a thriving farming sector and a sustainable, healthy and secure food supply. The Authority needs statistical information to support the implementation and development of its sustainable farming and food strategy. The figures are also used widely in local government and industry, as well as non-government organisations and the public. There are legal obligations and agreements to provide many of the figures to the EU. The Authority is responsible for producing UK statistics from its own sources and surveys, from sources in other Government Departments or Agencies and from other geographical Government Departments (for example, the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs for Northern Ireland, Agriucltural and Rural Affairs Statistics, Welsh Government and the Socttish Government’s Rural and Environmental Science Analytical Services division) where appropriate. The Authority is seeking a Contractor to contribute a broad range of expert and up to date knowledge and intelligence on the cereals sector as well as provide detailed data for cereal seeds and fodder/forage crops.
