Tender description

Placement of Children and Young People in Residential Care Homes and Non Maintained Independent Special Schools and Independent Specialist Colleges. The Council is publishing this PIN as a call for competition and will not publish any further notices prior to making an INMSS/ISC or Residential placement as set out in this notice. Any provider wishing to be considered for such placements should submit an expression of interest t: james.white@eastsussex.gov.uk The council will make placements in accordance with the following criteria: Needs of the child/young person; Any direction of a court tribunal; Cost of the placement. Independent and Non-Maintained Special Schools, Independent Specialist Colleges and Residential Children's Home Placements. There are around 250 INMSS/ISC placements ranging from 20 000 - 200 000 GBP p.a., depending on type and complexity and where all other provision has been exhausted. Often the provision for the child is so specialised that only 1 provider can be identified. Alternatively, placements are made as a result of a Tribunal where the Council is ordered to make a placement where there is no choice. Parental preference plays a major role in the decision making process. Placement costs are negotiated and taken to a Joint Agency Placement Panel meeting for approval and signed off by the Assistant Director. An Individual Placement Agreement is issued and reviewed annually. There are in the region of 16 placements in Independent Children's Homes where weekly costs range from 2 000 - 4 000 GBP. Placements costs are negotiated and agreed with the provider and an IPA is issued.
