Paediatrics in Primary Care Service

NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group is inviting prospective providers to express an interest to participate in supporting the design of the service model for a paediatrics in primary care service. NHS Dorset currently commission a paediatric general and allergy service provided in Bournemouth and Poole. The service works in partnership with secondary care to improve care pathway management by reducing demand on secondary care. There is a need for change as parent preference for initial advice is their GP. Facing the Future: Together for Child Health (RCPCH, 2015) clearly outlines the need to deliver better connected care in the community with more primary care healthcare professionals trained in child health and supported by more paediatricians operating outside the hospital setting. They set out standards that providers of paediatrics in Dorset (Poole Hospital Trust and Dorset County Hospital) should be delivering. The event will be held on Monday 6th March at NHS Dorset CCG, Vespasian House, Barrack Road, Dorchester, Dorset. DT1 1TG commencing with refreshments from 9.30am until 10.00am. Participants should note that the CCG reserves the right to use any information shared within this market engagement event to develop a mature service specification for future procurement purposes. Any costs incurred by participating in this exercise must be born by the participating organisations. Following this exercise the CCG shall determine how it will approach the market to secure the services. Please note that any future procurement will be subject to a separate advertisement and participation in this market engagement event will not automatically entitle any organisation's involvement in this procurement.
