Tender description

The North and Central London (NCL) Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCGs) of Islington, Camden, Haringey and Barnet have signed up to the Strategic Commissioning Framework, aimed at providing primary care services between 8:00 and 20:00, 7 days a week. In line with primary care priorities for Islington, Camden, Barnet and Haringey CCGs, NELCSU is tendering for the provision of extended services. The services will be tendered in 4 lots as follows: 1.Lot 1: Islington CCG registered patients; 2.Lot 2: Camden CCG registered patients; 3.Lot 3: Haringey CCG registered patients; 4.Lot 4: Barnet CCG registered patients; It is expected that the service will yield the following benefits: — Improved patient satisfaction with access; — Reduced number of patients with a primary care appropriate problem seen in A&E/ Urgent Care; — A more resilient health and care system. As part of this and aligning with NHS Sustainability and Transformation Plan (STP) priorities, North and East London Commissioning Support Unit (NEL CSU) on behalf of the CCGs, is tendering for the provision of extended access primary care services. It is expected that the services will yield the following benefits: — Improved patient satisfaction with access; — Reduced number of patients with a primary care appropriate problem seen in A&E/ Urgent Care; — A more resilient health and care system. The key service aims include: — To provide registered and non-registered resident populations with convenient, equitable access to general practice. — To improve patient experience and patient choice. — To release capacity within core hours so that those who need continuity of care can access appointments with their GP. — To reduce unnecessary attendance at A&E and unplanned admissions. — To support wider systems resilience by providing additional primary care capacity.
