Tender description
Kent County Council (KCC) would like to invite organisations who are interested in delivering a county- wide (excluding Medway) placement stability service for children and young people in care ( placed within in-house KCC foster placements) and care leavers to participate in a Market Engagement event. The aim of the event is to explore the proposed model for a placement stability service called a ‘Sense of Belonging.’Kent Fostering Service propose the implementation of additional support for their most vulnerable fostering placements, where additional pressures upon the foster carers mean there is a higher risk of a placement breakdown. The aim will be — To improve placement stability, — To provide clinical psychology support to children in care at times of crisis and placement instability — Intervene at the earliest possible stage, in the most appropriate manner to prevent the escalation of behaviour and support the emotional and/or mental health needs of children and young people — To improve the knowledge and skills of foster carers, providing practical approaches to caring for children in crisis. Providers will also have the opportunity to discuss their ideas, thoughts and suggestions directly with commissioners, and network with other suppliers in the sector with a view to forming effective delivery partnerships. Please be aware that prospective providers will need to express an interest via email to fsccommissioningadmin@kent.gov.uk by Tuesday 21.2.2017 and the email needs to include your name, position, organisation and contact details and the names and positions of other colleagues wishing to attend. Further details regarding the agenda for the session will be made available nearer the time.
