Tender description

The Hamble School is a local-authority (LA) maintained 11-16 School catering for c 1 000 students on the Hamble peninsula in Hampshire. On site are a number of community facilities including a 20 m indoor swimming pool, 4 badminton courts, sports hall, small fitness suite and communal areas. Additionally on-site but currently under separate lease agreements and timescales are football pitches, all-weather hockey pitches, tennis courts and a dedicated gymnastics centre. Capital investment is required to bring facilities up-to-date and marketing expertise is sought to increase usage and income. An experienced provider is sought to take on the management of the pool, sports hall and fitness suite areas, available to the community outside of school hours. Close working with the school and LA is required together with potential for significant capital investment from the new provider within the early years of any contract. The Council may consider that a lease of up to 15 years is granted. Hampshire County Council, on behalf of The Hamble School, are establishing interest in the formation of long term lease arrangements with an organisation who would be responsible for managing a leisure facility attached to the school.
