Tender description

Defra procuring on behalf of the Environment Agency. Need to purchase 4 Condensation Particle Counters (model 3772-CEN with associated vacuum pumps, sampling systems and servicing). All 4 existing instruments on the 'Particle Concentration and Number' network have broken beyond economical repair. Currently not able to collect the information required to show compliance with Article 6 para 5 of the Air Quality Directive, which asks for information on the total mass concentration of particulate matter, and also for the purpose of the European Monitoring and Evaluation Programme (EMEP - part of the Convention on Long Range Transboundary Air Pollution (CLRTAP) which requires monitoring of particle number concentration).
