Reef Habitat Chatacterisation

Tender description

The Marine Institute, a semi State body, wishes to invite tenders for the supply of expertise to provide a physical and biological characterisation of reef habitat relevant to spiny lobster (Palinurus elephas) off the west coast of Ireland. The study will involve use of remote methods to collect video data from which species assemblages of reef can be identified and enumerated and also sonar data that can provide high resolution physical characterisation of these habitats. These methods will be supported by data obtained from SCUBA diving operations which will also be used to tag and release spiny lobster in situ. This project will be funded by the Irish Government and the European Maritime Fisheries Fund. Full details are available in the attached Invitation to Tender document.
