Pressure Vessel Inspections to EN286-3

Iarnród Éireann (IÉ) have a requirement for the services of a specialist engineering company to undertake pressure vessel inspections, testing and repairs to comply with EU regulation EN286-3. The services to be provided will include the inspection and testing of vessels in-situ on railway vehicles and also the repair/replacement of non-conforming vessels. The services are required to be undertaken at IÉ’s maintenance facility in Limerick; and off-site at the suppliers premises where in-situ tests are not feasible. The services are to be undertaken on the 2600 and 2800 fleets of diesel multiple units (DMU) which have been in service since 1994 (2600) and 2000 (2800). The scope of the contract will involve undertaking inspections on 17 trainsets with 2 cars per trainset.
