To improve the quality of the water entering the SSSI from the urban area by: 1. Assessing the feasibility of a wetland system to treat the surface water run-off before it enters the SSSI. 2. To better understand the surface water flow paths within Nailsea to identify the locations for SUDs and constructed wetlands. 3. To provide multi-benefits such as amenity value for the local residents. 4. To provide a high quality ecological wetland resource. 5. To assess the impact of the proposed 5000+ new homes in the area on the surface water run-off.
