Tender description

Wakefield Council is reshaping its current young people substance misuse service and its parent and carer support services, procuring a family focussed substance misuse service (drugs and alcohol). This Prior Information Notice is to advise the market of a forthcoming procurement opportunity and providers do not need to express an interest at this time. A further contract notice will be issued as a call for competition; this is expected to be published 3.2018. It is anticipated that the new service will provide: a. prevention and early interventions for children and young people (to reduce risky behaviour, Tier 1 type interventions); b. targeted interventions for children and young people (for those who are at an “at risk stage” and require Tier 2 type interventions); c. specialist intervention services for children and young people (for those needing Tier 3 type interventions); d. information, advice, guidance to the parents, carers and extended family members of those experiencing substance misuse issues.
