Tender description

Kent County Council has been successful in receiving funding from the Big Lottery Fund to deliver the HeadStart Programme to improve the emotional wellbeing and resilience of 10-16 year olds and achieve systemic and lasting change for young people and communities in Kent. In Kent, there are 125,300 young people aged 10 to 16. Of those, 18,795 will have mild to moderate emotional wellbeing and mental illness that would benefit from additional interventions alongside their parents and carers. The exciting opportunity to be part of HeadStart Kent will ensure these young people are well supported in their journey and helped to prevent the onset of mental illness. The HeadStart ambition is to equip young people to better deal with difficult circumstances in their lives, so as to prevent them experiencing common emotional and mental health problems. In April of this year, the Council appointed an number of Delivery Partners to deliver a range of Headstart programmes. These included Family Work, Volunteer Mentors and Intensive Support. Due a restrictive timescales, the targeted intervention for young people who may have been exposed to the effects of family domestic abuse was not included with the first stage of delivery. KCC would now like to award this contract and to this end would like to attend all interested parties to join a virtual market event on Tuesday 12 December 2017 at 13:00. If you are interested in attending this event, please send through your expression of interest via the Portal. You will be sent details to allow you to dial in. On the day, and prior to the event you will be sent a presentation which will highlight the structure and approach for sourcing this intervention. If your organisation is having any issues then please use the guidance document titled Kent Business Portal-Supplier guidance which can be found on the supplier page on the portal or contact the Care Procurement team via procurement.care@kent.gov.uk and we will endeavour to assist you with any issues.
