Tender description

The School of Engineering and Design requires new and up to date equipment to facilitate the delivery of the new electrical apprenticeship curriculum, Version 4.1. Delivery, installation and commissioning of all new equipment will be in IT Sligo, Ash Lane, Sligo. Equipment set(s) for vocational education to provide solar, wind and battery energy and electricity training in a vocational context. Full description in the RFT document. Complete modular Hybrid-Energy training System to provide training on Solar/Wind energy systems using real world components. The system must be operational and/or capable of performing a range of experiments. Full details and specifications in the RFT document. This lot involves the procurement of 3 Phase Metering & Distribution Board enclosure including associated potable metering and separate busbar chamber. This requirement arises in relation to specific curriculum units of the electrical apprentice programme. Assessment board to simulate a domestic oil/gas heating system with controllability across three zones (upstairs/downstairs space heating and hot water) using S, S plus and Y plan. Assessment board to simulate a domestic installation for connection to Domestic/NSH or Dual Tariff meeting. Batteries & E Lighting Systems (Addressable E-Lighting to reflect current practice). Laboratory board to allow student to gain an understanding in the KNX system of Home Automation. Assessment board to allow a PLC to control home automation i.e. lighting in designated areas for specified times, using control/motion sensors and time clocks, heating systems etc. Equipment required teaching current Irish and European standards for the installation of Intruder Alarm systems, and, conventional Fire Alarm systems.
