A Better Start Southend Group based Breastfeeding Support service - Pilot

The "A Better Start Southend" (ABSS) programme is seeking to appoint a provider to deliver a group based breastfeeding support service in the A Better Start wards both ante-natally and for up to one year post-delivery. We envisage this support consisting of a number of groups, in each of the A Better Start wards, delivered in appropriate community settings. The pilot will initially be for a 6 month period from 1st February 2018 until 31st July 2018. There will be an option to extend for an additional period of up to 6 months, or any part thereof. The extension will be at the discretion of the Pre-school Learning Alliance and will be subject to the Providers high level of service delivery, service demand and value for money. The latest expiry date of the contract will be 31st January 2019. Depending on the success and outcome of this pilot, there may or may not be the need to carry out a formal tender process in order to procure a service beyond this pilot.
