Tender description

The headline requirement relates to the Ministry of Justice's requirement for the national supply of flat screen televisions within its own organisation and participating Contracting Authorities across England, Wales and Scotland. LED Flat Screen TV Specification. 1. Physical Characteristics — Screen size approx 19 Inch, 16:9 aspect flat screen TV quality low energy LED panel. — Manufacturers A Grade components, defect free. — Robust operational controls positioned on the front, side or top face of the unit. — Supplied with an Infrared Remote control handset unit for TV basic use and setup operation (Including supplied battery with AA or AAA sized batteries). — Unit base, to be fixed with no requirement for assembly with tools. (There may be a requirement to provide the TV set with a bespoke casing, different to the normal design generally applied across the industry). — Power lead length to be no greater than 750 MM. — lead to be detachable, 2 pin type. — Power lead should be a fitted with a moulded-on (non-re-wirable) 13A plug complying with BS 1363-1, complete with a factory-fitted BS 1362 fuse rated at 3A. 2. Functionality — TV to incorporate Analogue and Digital TV tuner. Analogue UHF Pal-1 TV tuner with Automatic search tuning capability for analogue signals and United Kingdom Digital Signal Frequencies. Digital Tuner to be DVBT compatible and support Logical Channel Numbering (LCN). — Both Digital TV and Radio stations are required and shall be factory restricted within the TV software and only include specified channels. (9 predetermined TV channels and all BBC radio programmes). — Television software is required to also accept specified additional signals. — Any software engineer's code for the TV to be bespoke or protected with an additional protection layer to maintain security. Any engineering codes shall be unique to the Authority and not in the public or service network domain. Engineer's codes to be supplied to the MoJ for retention centrally and not divulged to prison sites, public or service engineer networks. — All TV operating menus and accompanying user instructions in default English Language. — Physical front or side TV controls to have the ability to control, Power, TV set up and modify tuning, channel switching, basic contrast and brightness settings and volume without the use of a remote control unit. — Maximum Volume 5 watts audio output. — No access to any media capability including accessing image formats, other video formats, music formats in the event that the USB port is compromised. 3. Inputs & Outputs — Standard aerial input to receive transmission of in building information system feed and central TV and video distribution via standard TV coaxial cabling and connector. — 1x HDMI Socket for digital signal. — 1x Headphone output socket. — 1x Non-powered USB connector to facilitate future TV software modification and Upgrade. — USB port only to accept permitted software files for software modification. 4. Supporting Information and Packaging — Hard copy User Instructions to be provided in English Language. — Packaging to be sufficiently robust and comply with the relevant legislative requirements. No polystyrene or non-recyclable infill. — No plastic bags to be used to protect product. 5. WEEE Compliance — Currently there is no requirement for WEEE support as we operate internal disposal procedures for WEEE.
